Zanzibar Island, TANZANIA
The island of Zanzibar, located in the Indian Ocean 25 kilometers from the Tanzanian coast, offers a dazzling landscape, isolated from the rest of the world. You will swim in clear turquoise waters, you will walk on shallow sand bars and you will discover the many small deserted islands in the surroundings, practically devoid of tourists. Explore Stone Town, in the old quarters of the city of Zanzibar, a World Heritage site. Or stroll from beach to beach between the small fishing villages, each one more beautiful than the other. We all have a secret island lost in a corner of the ocean. A port between sky and sea bristling with coconut palms and large white houses, in front of which we would like to anchor one day if by luck we arrived by sea. One of these islands sufficiently eaten by myth for us to go and see what it really looks like.

Slick rig for DX use. Purple skin for contrast,
Zanzibar, located just south of the equator in the Indian Ocean, offers exceptional year-round HF propagation due to its proximity to the geomagnetic equator and strong equatorial ionization. Daytime brings powerful DX on 15m–10m to Europe, Asia, and South America, especially during equinoxes and high solar flux. At night, 40m and 80m open well to Europe, Asia, and Africa, with extended 20m activity lingering into the evening. The region benefits from trans-equatorial and greyline propagation, making it ideal for wide-coverage DX with modest setups. Tropical QRN may affect low bands during rainy months, but overall conditions are highly favorable for global communication.
