Hi,

that's the normal so called "Repeaters" in HS4 for VHF/UHF.
You can also get a special plugin for the radio to see which station is on which Repeater.

All other signals on low frequencies of each shortwave-band are beacons, located all around the world.
You can get a S-Value, e.g. for Europe or Asia. If you see "EUR S6" or "ASE S4", you could reach this continent with such a signal.
