I don’t have the CW module any more but when I did have it, I Used the right and left arrow keys on the keyboard. Non of the other keys will send code. If you are using a mouse then you have to set it up through the interface adapter. There is a manual for the interface adapter that you need to download and read prior to using the adapter. Other operators have had some difficulties with the CW module and interface adapter. I use an external key and paddle connected to my rig through a serial-to- USB cable. You can also download either the Hamscope or FLDIGI software keyer program and use the full keyboard to send CW over Hamsphere. I can PM you a document showing my setup if you would like. Let me know.
HOWDY;
When you get the time would like to see your setup. I would think KELLY would improve the cw setup. On CQ100 you just press cw and the keyboard on the computer you use for sending.
I just emailed you, at the email address you listed above, a file showing my setup and some other info for working CW on HS4. The setup will take a bit of experimenting with but you can connect a key or paddle to HS4 or use the Hamscope software to use the keyboard (similar to CQ-100). Have a look at the document and let me know if you have any questions.
Is your email address on your QRZ page? If so, I will email you a couple of documents I have showing my setup for the straight key and paddle as well as the Hamscope setup to use the full keyboard. I cannot attach the documents here on the forum as it will not accept Word document attachments.
