Recieving QSL cards when on a Smart Phone?
2016-07-12 10:45
Hi Everyone,

When using my phone for a contact and they say they want to exchange QSL Cards, will that card show up in my received QSL Cards?

On my computer lets say, so I can go into my account and have received a QSL Card and send one back??

Thanks

Hi Brian,

yes, of course. ;-) The QSL-Card is stored on the server (FTP/File-Area), not on your Smartphone or Computer.
You can see it in your Account by clicking "Received QSL's".

And .you can create a logbook-entry manually on your desktop radio later on and send a card. Note the time, frequency and call-sign from the other station, that's it.

In most cases I do it this way, when I'm at home: I start the mobile APP and the desktop-version at the same time, with diff. frequencies (or turn the volume down/off on the computer side).
So I can work with the phone and log the entries via computer at the same time. :-) Just click your QSO (station, UTC, freq.) in the cluster and save it.

Just try it, sometimes the system don't like running at the same time, but mostly it works.

I have the same problem with my Iphone. When I am out for the day I want to use my Iphone and log qsl cards. You cannot do this via the iphone.

This should be part of an upgrade as this is not a good way to manage QSO's. If my contacts do not send me a qsl card then they are forever lost as I cannot remember the calls, times and frequencies when I talk to 5 people or more on my phone.

Perhaps support will address this in a future upgrade.

You cannot do it on EVERY phone. ;-)
It's the same on android systems as well.

Ok, it would be not real in the real world, but also the "cluster" of the desktop version is not realistic.
I think the only way is to notice the callsigns, times, frequencies and so on and create theentries later on (ok, along the way it's quite difficult, I know)

Otherwise I tell the other stations, that I'm "portable" at the moment and not able to exchange QSL's.
