If I set both versions to the same freq will I hear transmission on both? I can get things on 3 but nothing on 4. I dont get any errors when login into 4, I just dont hear anything. My ports are open and I have config everything correctly. Yet I can not tell if it is working properly.

3 is a separate prpgram
so what happens is normal

If you have someone nearby, try a qso on 40m. Ensure that you have set your POWER knob to position 12 (for a start) and the Microphone knob to position between 9 and 10 O'çlock position. Speak into the mike and check if you are within the ALC (green) on the S-meter. DO NOT EXCEED THAT LIMIT!!

When you speak, you should see the S-meter moving.

If you see nothing, click on the AUDIO plug in and see if the default speaker and microphone have been selected. Usually the default setting works.
