Hamsphere Credits and Plug-ins

My plan is to buy the antenna last of all after consulting and listening to others on HS4.

For now, I was thinking of purchasing some design plug-ins first.

What has been suggested in the user manual is, I first add HS Credits, select what I need, add these to my cart, and then pay for them on checkout via PayPal

1. Suppose I have added (say) HS credits of around 100
2. The total value of plug-ins I wish to buy is Euro 80
3. Do I pay Euro 100 or Euro 80?
4. If its Euro 80, what happens to the balance HS credits of 20?

If I am going to pay for what I actually buy (Euro 80) then it will be easy to decide on what I need, as I am sure that I may over or under order design plug-ins while I design my transceiver face plate. The Euro is not cheap for us, so I need to be careful.

As I understand it, having bought a few of the cheaper plugins, if you buy credits, they are added to your balance. When you buy plugins, the cost is subtracted from your balance. In your example, if you have a balance of €100 and buy plugins costing €80, then you will have €20 left in your balance.

Hope this helps,

Thanks Phil,

So I guess I will have to be careful when I buy the plug-ins.

Will have a look around what others have done, then I will have a better understanding of what I will need exactly.

I also just try to find a way to buy something from the shop, because I don't use PayPal or something like that.
Maybe via normal banktransaction like before.

I'd like to buy a G5RV and a Yagi incl. the rotator and selector. Together about 24,- Euros.

Just purchased some plug-ins (with HS Credits and PayPal) including the BIG rotator and Azimuth Display unit.
Will wait to see what new multi-band antennae are added. Right now I am eyeing the 6-band 5 el quad!!!!

Should be good.

I have an issue with editing! Some panels will not budge!!

Volume Panel
Filter Panel
Copyright Panel
Audio Control Panel...... I see no real purpose for this and wanted to replace it with the Lightup Callsign Panel.

Also I had to re-login twice to move two of the items I purchased. Not sure why they refused to move with the left-click cursor

Hello Gents,

After doing the log-in procedure , selecting the products I wanna buy and then proceeding to CHECK OUT... unfortunately, I don't see any paypal or any other payment option to complete the check out procedure :( any clues? maybe you need to fix my account for that?

Thanks and waiting,

Daniel (3HS2679 - Subscriber since Aug/2013).

Hi Daniel,

i guess the reason is, that you can't buy credits and plugins at the same time without having credits before.
So you first have to add credits ONLY and buy them via PayPal. After this credit is booked in your account, you should be able to buy other things.
I hope that helps.

I have had a problem today in processing a payment to buy HS credits. Paypal just kept returning me to the merchant. I could not pay via my credit card either. Since Paypal processes both forms of payment, they kept sending me back to the merchant.

So to check if my Paypal account was blocked, I subsequently purchased an item on eBay which was paid via Paypal. NO PROBLEM. The transaction was successful.

I have a feeling that the HS payment gateway is "over heating" with so many transactions that it may be down at the moment. I have sent a support ticket. Let's see what they have to say.

I'm also waiting for my Ticket-answer. But I guess, there is a lot of trouble in the beginning, a lot of questions from users and this takes time. :-)
And of course some or a lot of bugs in new software and maybe websites like shop-systems.
That's normal with new software and new systems etc. We just have to be patient.

Hello Jörg

It was not a problem with the HS payment gateway. It seems that the Paypal security system blocked the payment transaction. PayPal (when I phoned them) say that they are unable to tell me why this has happened. They suggest that I try once more after about 48 hours!! This look like an isolated case as I know that others have purchased HS credits via Paypal subsequent to this event. It is strange that two previous Euro transactions were successfully paid via PayPal.

I had informed HS Support but there has been no response so far. I also suggested to HS Support (as recommended by PayPal) to send me an invoice via PayPal and that would be processed!!

So, in fairness, it is not a HS problem!!

So it is a wait and see issue now

Hi Ekendra,

good to hear. :-) But some other user seems to got the same problem as you. I heard it on the bands yesterday and also there is another thread of that in the 3. forum.

Seems there are still some problems in the shop and i'm also still waiting for a reply from the support-staff.
So i can't say more at this time and also can't do anything with the new system.

In the night there where some issues and server-crashes with the new version .003. Login problems, server-failure, login failures, program crashes and so and so on....
After some re-launches we stopped all QSOs and I given up in the night at 3.00 AM localtime. :-)))

But it seems that most answers from HamSphere are coming only on Facebook, not longer on this page.
So here you don't find any reply from the team or Kelly and also no reply of any Support-Tickets. I've got messages from other users with the same problem.
Nobody really knows what happens at the moment, incl. the admins which have not so much internal information...

So we only can still wait for solutions of all this problems. That' the result of new decades of new software.

Hello
Whats happens with paypal and other payment options, we dont know.

Maybe kelly will bring an other option .

Wait and see, and the support is very busy whit answer tickets.

Kelly has a lot of thinks to do, most importent is that HS 4.0 works without any problem.

Hello Geert and thanks for the reply. :-)

Yes, I can imagine that there is a lot of trouble and work at the moment. I know it from other software and systems, which I support and administrate.

Sorry that I don't have a Facebook account ( I don't use it) and can't reply there, but I think many other users can do it.
We have to be patient, the system is running very stable today and a few minutes ago we made contacts between USA/Canada and Germany on 20 meters. :-)

Hello Jörg and Geert,

I completely agree with both of you that Kelly and his wonderful team must give all their attention to getting HS4 up and running perfectly before opening the flood gate to others. Then its going to be really interesting!!

Incidentally I waited the period stipulated by Paypal and purchased more credits and 2 5el yagi antennae for 20m and 17m. Later (perhaps next month) I will buy two more for 15m and 20m.

I hope that Kelly will bring other options for payment as I had to telephone/email PayPal Singapore several times to get the security block temporarily suspended till I did the transactions. After each payment the window is closed but only for payments to Hamsphere which to me is really strange!!

Payments on eBay for example or software that I purchased all were done sans any issues!!

Anyway, I am glad that this got sorted. The next time I will alert Paypal before I do a payment transaction.

Best wishes to you both

Hello Ekendra,

yes indeed, we had the nice QSO. :-) Even in this moment I'd realized that it was you! Yesterday on the QSO I don't had an idea about that, but your name sounded familiar. What a "coincidence". :-)

So I'm really glad that we met on the bands. And I hope wie can continue our QSO from yesterday next time!

Roger on that Jörg,

The next time I will know!!

It taking some effort to remember HS callsigns since I am so used to ham radio callsigns.

Wish there was an easier way. I use the HS user list, but unfortunately that does not give, name, grid locator and such, similar to QRZ.com

CU soon.

my first buy:
bought an item at the shop via paypal and worked without problem , only the time from the shop page getting directed to paypal page login was very long , I guess about a minute instead of seconds which I used when buying at ebay . May be I am the lucky one as it worked , but this log period indicates a problem .

I read that people make QSO's via HS 0,4 (even wonderfull QSO's) I don't understand how they manage to establish any QSO, I can't,
its not like HS 0.3 probably. 73.

It's more like in the real HF-World. You just "hear" the callsign and in a real Transceiver there ist no "Cluster" as well. ;-)
But you can create a Spot-Entry in HS 4 - and from that it's easier to make a logbook entry later on.
Or you can type in all dates manually.
